Podere Casina is our family-run winery, located among the sunny hills of Maremma, where we produce wine and welcome our guests in a friendly and tranquil environment, immersed in nature.
A bit of history
The company, the family: free souls who met in a land to them “foreign,” making it their own.
1987
Rahel Kimmich and Marcello Pirisi buy an abandoned farm of 45 hectares on the hills between the towns of Grosseto and Scansano, in Maremma.
1990-2000
With much effort, but also a lot of passion, they transform it into a beautiful winery in which they now live with their children: Ivan Michele and Andrea. The entire process, from the vineyard to the cellar, are personally supervised by members of the family.
Today
Andrea, deals with the production of wine: the grapes – carefully selected and hand-picked – are processed in the company cellar.
The artist rahel kimmich gives an imprint, with her style and passion, to the products of “podere casina”, personally taking care of the marketing and public image, and is its welcoming face of hospitality.
HOW TO REACH US
Route by car (Rome / Florence / Leghorn / Pisa):
from any direction of travel of the SS1 Aurelia, to reach us it is necessary to take the Grosseto Est exit, then continue towards Scansano. After crossing the Ombrone river after the village of Istia d’Ombrone, you will have to continue on the main road towards Scansano for another 500 m., Take the first road on the right and, after about 2.5 km, you will notice the Podere Casina sign; turn right at the first dirt road and you will have arrived.
